Nkandu Calls for more football Cup Competitions

Government has called on the Corporate World to partner with the Zambian Premier League to come up with more Cup competitions.

Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU says formulating more competitions will strengthen the various leagues and also create platforms for talent identification.

NKANDU was speaking during the launch of the 2024 Charity Shield which will be a double header to be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on August 10th, 2024.

NKANDU said once more sponsors come on board, the status of both the Men and Women’s football will improve.

And, Clarity shield Sponsors Zambian Breweries have given Zambian Premier League 3.37 Million Kwacha in sponsorship.

Company Head of Marketing THELMA KAONGA said Zambian Breweries is committed to making significant contributions to the growth of football.

Meanwhile, the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- said for the first time the charity shield will also see a women’s game played as Green Buffaloes Women’s Football team will take on Choma Warriors Ladies while in the Men’s game Red Arrows will face Kabwe

Zambian Premier League Chief Executive Officer JOSEPH CHIMPAMPWE said in memory of the late SAMUEL ZOOM NDHLOVU a number of events will be held such as visiting his grave yard and his Widow in Mufulira on the Copperbelt.
