ECZ warns against exam malpractice
By Cecilia Zyambo
The Examinations Council of Zambia – ECZ- has warned private Examination Centres against engaging in malpractice.
ECZ Public Relations Manager, NICHOLAS NKHUWA says the examining body will not hesitate to close any centre that will be found wanting.
Mr. NKHUWA says ECZ closed four examination centres last year for engaging in examination malpractice.
He has since advised examination candidates to conduct due diligence of private centres before enrolling for examinations to avoid being inconvenienced.
Mr. NKHUWA was speaking to ZNBC News ahead of the start of the General Certificate of Education – GCE – and Junior Secondary External examinations next week.
He disclosed that 10,075 candidates have registered to sit for GCE while 10,040 candidates will sit for Junior Secondary External examinations.
