Vedanta takes over KCM

VEDANTA Resources Holding Limited has taken over operations of Konkola Copper Mines.

This follows the lifting of the Liquidation of the Mine after the withdrawal of the winding up petition of KCM by ZCCM -Investment Holdings.

Lusaka High Court Judge , CHARLES KAFUNDA has granted the Ex-parte Order for withdrawal of the winding petition of KCM earlier filed by ZCCM-IH.

The move has also seen the restoration of the Board of Directors of KCM, removal of the provisional liquidator Ms. CELINE MENA NAIR.

Judge KAFUNDA says neither of the parties will bear the legal costs.
