ACC Investigating some ministers

The Anti Corruption Commission -ACC- says it is investigating some Ministers accused of corruption.
ACC Deputy Director General MONICA MWANSA however says the Commission will not mention the names or portfolio of those involved to protect their integrity.
She adds that the Commission only announces names of those who are officially charged or arrested for corrupt practices.
Meanwhile, Mrs. MWANSA says it has concluded investigations against Livingstone Mayor CONSTANCE MULEABAI on alleged corrupt practices.
Speaking during the second quarter press briefing, Mrs. MWANSA said the Commission is currently analyzing the information gathered to establish the next step to be taken.
Mrs. MWANSA also revealed that in the first quarter ,the Commission received 361 reports of suspected corruption.
She said of the 361 cases, 209 reports contained elements of corruption and 170 reports were authorized for investigations.
She says the remaining 39 reports did not have sufficient details of the corruption offence to warrant investigations to be conducted.
Mrs MWANSA also added that by the end of the quarter, the Commission made 12 arrests, secured 6 convictions and presented 87 cases before the Courts of Law.
She has assured the country that operations of the Commission have not been affected by the recent leadership disruptions.
