Man found dead after killing wife

A 30-year-old man of Kasenengwa District has been found dead barely six days after he axed his wife to death and fled into the bush.
JAIROS SHAWA of Makoleka village in Chief Mishoro’s area hacked NANCY MWANZA in the neck resulting in her death around 16:00 hours on July 22,2024.
Eastern Province Police Commanding officer ROBERTSON MWEEMBA says police suspect that Mr SHAWA committed suicide after murdering his wife.
Mr MWEEMBA says the decomposed body of the deceased was found yesterday.
Earlier the commanding officer told ZNBC News in Chipata that Mr SHAWA’s wife sustained a deep cut on the right side of the neck and a cut on the right arm.
Mr MWEEMBA said the couple had a marital dispute which forced the wife to leave the matrimonial house together with their seven-year-old daughter.
He said the suspect was accusing his wife of having an affair with another man.
