CDF allocation to be increased in 2025

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has challenged Local Authorities to take advantage of the increased Constituency Development Fund -CDF- to enhance service delivery.
President HICHILEMA says despite the challenges the country is facing because of the drought, he has directed the Finance Minister to increase the allocation of CDF- in the 2025 National budget.
Speaking at State House today when he met Mayors and Council Chairpersons from 63 Districts, President HICHILEMA said this is a way of accelerating development across the country.
And President HICHILEMA has told Council Chairpersons and Mayors to lead the fight against Corruption in their various municipalities.
He reiterated his stance towards zero tolerance to corruption emphasizing that the government will fight past, present and future corruption.
President HICHILEMA said people voted for the UPND government to improve service delivery.
He also challenged the civic leaders to address the issue of illegal land occupation.
The President said Government will NOT tolerate the culture of impunity and lawlessness in land management.
And speaking on behalf of the 63 civic leaders, president of the Local Government Association of Zambia, VINCENT LILANDA said the CDF has changed the way development is delivered to the people.
