Government assures ex Investrust Bank workers

Finance and National Planning Minister, SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says the Bank of Zambia is facilitating documentation for eligible employees of the former Investrust Bank to access their in-house pensions.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says it is difficult for the Bank of Zambia to give a specific timeline when it will pay terminal benefits to the former employees because the Bank in liquidation has no money.
He was responding to a question for oral answer raised by Kamfinsa Member of Parliament CHRISTOPHER KANG’OMBE in the National Assembly on whether Government will pay terminal benefits to over 350 former employees of Investrust Bank following the takeover by the Bank of Zambia.
And Dr. MUSOKOTWANE revealed that the Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank Limited -ZICB- has recruited about 60 former Investrust members of staff.
He said ZICB has also taken over 16 branches of the former Investrust Bank.
