‘Fix ZESCO’ Protesters call off Protest

Energy Minister, MAKOZO CHIKOTE has assured Zambians that ZESCO is working at ensuring that the load management scheduled is consistent especially in the big cities.

He says government is working around the clock to ensure other sources of Energy such as Solar to mitigate the impact of load shedding.

Mr CHIKOTE was speaking during an Energy Town Hall Meeting.

Earlier, Energy Permanent Secretary, PETER MUMBA said the Town hall is an opportunity to dialogue so that stakeholders can understand the energy crisis that the country is faced with.

Meanwhile, the concerned citizens who had organised a protest against ZESCO which was scheduled on for tomorrow have called off the protest.

This is after the representatives of the Group held a meeting with Mr. CHIKOTE, ZESCO Managing Director VICTOR MAPANI and other stakeholders

NAWA SITALI explained that concerned citizens will not go ahead with the FIX ZESCO Protest because they are happy that the Energy Minister has engaged them.
