Chief KAMBOMBO thanks HH for being inclusive
Acting senior Chief KAMBOMBO of Chama district has thanked President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA for being inclusive in the running of the country’s affairs.
The acting chief said the people of Chama district have not been left out from the programs that government is implementing across the country.
Acting Chief KAMBOMBO said the people in Chama are benefiting from social cash transfer, bursaries through CDF, fertiliser support Program and free education among others.
The acting Chief said this when Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA paid a courtesy call on him.
The traditional leader however appealed to government to tar the Lundazi-Chama road which is currently being graded.
The chief also requested for the tarring of the remaining 62 kilometers of the Chama-Matumbo road.
He also appealed to government to increase the number of beneficiaries on the farmer inputs support Program in the district.
Acting Chief KAMBOMBO further appealed to government to take wild animals to protected areas and provide electric solar fences to address the challenge of human wildlife conflict.
And in responding to the issues raised by the chief, Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA said farming inputs for the 2024/2025 farming season were already in Chama waiting distribution.
Mr. SIKUMBA said it is important for people in game management areas to realize that the existence of wildlife is the reason why they have Carbs in the committees which was also empowering people.
He also encouraged the chief to take interest in the cash for work being implemented across the country in response to the challenge caused by the drought.
