ZESCO to identify new markets for setting up Diesel Generators
By Masauso Mkwayaya
ZESCO has started identifying additional markets where Diesel Generators will be installed to ensure small businesses have access to electricity during official working hours.
ZESCO Spokesperson MATONGO MAUMBI says the initiative will expand on the existing connections that have been done at Chilenje, Nyumbayanga and Soweto Markets.
In an interview with ZNBC News, Mr. MAUMBI said ZESCO aims to provide small businesses with continuous electricity during normal working hours.
He added that ZESCO will cover the fuel costs, while business owners will only need to pay for their electricity usage through bills and purchase of units.
And Mr. MAUMBI urged learning institutions reopening this week to consider alternative energy sources, such as solar power, due to the ongoing electricity load-shedding crisis.
