President HICHILEMA hails Chinese heritage in development
(ZANIS) President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Zambia can learn a lot from China’s remarkable rich history in order to advance social economic development.
President HICHILEMA said this after touring Emperor Qinshihuang Mausoleum in Shaanxi Province, on the sidelines of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation –FOCAC- summit.
The Qinshihuang Mausoleum is one of China’s famous museums that houses the Terracotta Warriors, depicting Chinese 5,000 years of history and cultural heritage.
President HICHILEMA said the history of the Chinese Dynasty and that country’s heritage shows how organised societies were and managed challenges for successive generational development.
President HICHILEMA challenged Zambians to stop prioritising social media content, stressing that there is a connection between development and cultural heritage.
He said Zambians need to emulate and step up to be teams that are organised and work in order to change the narrative of Zambia’s development process.
President HICHILEMA said greater lessons can be learnt from the organisation of older historical societies in order to address contemporary challenges such as drought.
