K38m released for the Construction of the Request Muntanga Hospital
Government has released 38.9 million Kwacha to complete phase two of the Request Muntanga Level One hospital in Kalomo District, Southern Province.
Phase two of the Hospital includes among others the construction of a mortuary, maternity wing, theatre room and four staff houses.
And Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary CHRISTOPHER SIMOONGA says the government has already paid the contractor 19.9 million Kwacha towards the project.
Professor SIMOONGA says the works are expected to be completed within eight months.
He said this during the brick laying ceremony for the construction of the hospital in Kalomo District.
Speaking earlier, Kalomo District Administrative officer DOREEN MWENDA commended the government for honoring the promise to complete the hospital.
And Kalomo Council Chairperson COY MAKAYA says the completion of the hospital will help people access health services closer to them.
