The Lusaka Magistrate Court has ruled that the time frame has not expired for the determination of a matter where former Lusaka Province Minister, BOWMAN LUSAMBO is facing three counts of possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.
Chief Resident Magistrate DAVIES CHIBWILI has delivered the ruling.
This follows an application by the defence for the matter to be dismissed, citing that the Prosecution’s time frame had elapsed.
Magistrate CHIBWILI ruled that the accused will not be prejudiced on account of the lapse of the five months prosecutions’ period.
This in the matter where Mr. LUSAMBO is charged with possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime contrary to section 71 of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act Number 19 of 2010.
