Corruption to be ruthlessly fought – HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has reaffirmed his Administration’s resolve to eradicate all forms of corruption.
President HICHILEMA says all suspected cases of corruption are being thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
He says additional assorted properties worth over K100 million and cash amounting to K56.6 million have been forfeited to the state.
President HICHILEMA has also revealed that over 25 million United States dollars was recovered from an individual.
And President HICHILEMA says there is STILL need to reform the constitution so that it reflects the aspirations of the citizens.
The President says his Administration wants to facilitate an efficient and credible process of reforming the constitution.
He has however bemoaned the failure as a country to reach consensus on the constitution.
Meanwhile, President HICHILEMA says his Administration remains committed to upholding Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Expression.
He says no media institution has been closed down for political or other consideration since the UPND administration assumed office.
President HICHILEMA says people are now free to voice their concerns without fear of retribution and that the civic and democratic space has been expanded.
He says all political players, Civil Society Organisations and other stakeholders are using media platforms to reach out to the public without hindrance.
President HICHILEMA has since urged citizens to avoid abusing social and other media by spreading hate speech, misinformation and propaganda that has the potential to threaten national security.
