MUZALA SAMUKONGA returns

Zambia’s 2024, Olympic Bronze Medalist MUZALA SAMUKONGA has returned home.
The Sprinter whose stay in Europe was prolonged after the Olympics due to his participation in the diamond league returned home to a thunderous welcome.
SAMUKONGA was received at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, this afternoon by officials from the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts led by Permanent Secretary KANGWA CHILESHE.
And speaking during the welcoming ceremony held at the National Sports Development Centre -NASDEC- Youth Sport and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU praised SAMUKONGA for putting Zambia on the World Map.
NKANDU said this in a speech delivered on his behalf by Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister ELIAS MUBANGA.
He said government will continue implementing sound sports policies aimed at developing and improving the status of sport in the country.
And French Ambassador to Zambia THOMAS ROSSIGNOL said the minting of the Bronze medal has not only brought honour to the Zambian Government but also to his office as many in France are now aware that Zambia is a rising sporting nation.
Meanwhile, National Olympic Committee of Zambia -NOCZ- President ALFRED FOLOKO praised all the 32 athletes that represented the country at the Olympic Games.
And SAMUKONGA has pledged to continuously work hard and put Zambia on the world map.
SAMUKONGA said his triumph is a testament that Zambian athletes are talented and can achieve great things with adequate support.
