“Load management to stabilize in October”
By Honester Mshoka
Energy Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE says the country will in October expect to see stability in the load management hours due to various initiatives put in place.
Mr CHIKOTE says by October, Maamba Energy will start supplying the 300 Mega Watts to ZESCO.
He says currently Government is importing 450 mega watts of power to cushion the power deficit the country is experiencing and has since called back 290 mega watts from the export markets.
Delivering a Ministerial Statement in Parliament today, Mr CHIKOTE however said the country is limited in increasing its importation of power because of the lack of infrastructure.
And, Mr CHIKOTE has disclosed that Government and Tebian Electric Apparatus – TBEA have signed an MOU for the immediate action to set up a 2,000 megawatts solar power plant in Zambia.
