Govt addressing power deficit – VEEP

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is spending sleepless nights to address the power deficit the country is facing.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says government acknowledges that the power deficit has not only adversely affected domestic users but also the production sectors.
Meanwhile Mrs. NALUMANGO has dispelled allegations from some quarters that President HICHILEMA is forcing every ZAMBIAN to use solar energy amidst the electricity crisis.
She says President HICHILEMA has instead only encouraged those that can afford expenditure on solar energy to seize the opportunity.
The Vice President was speaking in CHALIMBANA, Chongwe district before holding a caucus with UPND members in the area.
At the same function, CHONGWE Member of Parliament SYLVIA MASEBO acknowledged that the UPND administration has facilitated the implementation of a number of projects in her Constituency through the enhanced Constituency Development Fund -CDF.
Ms. MASEBO who is also Lands and Natural Resources Minister said this has positively impacted on the people of CHONGWE.
And CHONGWE UPND District Chairperson LEONARD CHILIMA acknowledged that the increase in CDF allocations has impacted positively on the lives of Chongwe residents.
