Beef economic zone to accelerate exports – HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the declaration of Kafue Flats as a Beef Special Economic Zone will accelerate commercialisation of livestock and exportation of beef.
President HICHILEMA says government has already secured a market and that the exportation of beef is likely to start within a year.
He said this in Bweengwa, Monze district when he officiated at the Lwanza Traditional Ceremony.
And President HICHILEMA has advised cabinet ministers and secretary to the cabinet to ensure all government programmes are centred on the promotion of unity in the country.
The Head of State said unity is a clear path to development.
He also urged Zambians to embrace culture to produce future generations that will uphold integrity and hard work among other traits.
And Chief HAMUSONDE said traditional ceremonies can help enhance development through tourism if well harnessed.
Chief HAMUSONDE was speaking through his representative MILNER MWANAKAMPWE.
The traditional leader also thanked government for constructing dams in his Chiefdom.
He said the water facilities have enabled people and livestock to have access to water.
Meanwhile, Southern Province Minister, CREDO NANJUWA said the province is grateful that Kafue Flats have been declared a Beef Special Economic Zone.
Mr. NANJUWA said the provincial administration has undertaken a bench-marking tour to Botswana to expedite the commercialisation of livestock and the beef value chain.
