ACC Probes CDF Corruption Cases
By Sharon Siame
The Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- says it is investigating a number of cases involving the Constituency Development Fund -CDF.
ACC Head Corporate Communications TIMOTHY MOONO says the Commission will NOT hesitate to institute investigations and bring to book all those that will be found wanting.
Mr. MOONO says the ACC has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the Auditor General on information sharing.
He says the MoU enables the Office of the Auditor General to share information in advance on matters that relate to corruption.
Mr. MOONO further says the ACC is NOT prioritizing forfeiture of assets and conviction of corruption offenders at the expense of implementing corruption prevention measures.
He told ZNBC News that the Commission has currently placed equal emphasis on all its functions including anti-corruption public awareness.
The ACC Head Corporate Communications however noted that the forfeiture of proceeds of crime is a new phenomenon in Zambia following the enactment of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act of 2012.
