Local Government and Rural Development Minister GARY NKOMBO has explained that companies contracted to supply 156 Life Support Ambulances under CDF were subjected to a transparent bidding process.
Mr. NKOMBO says due diligence was done on the companies that were awarded the tender.
He said this in a Ministerial Statement delivered in the National Assembly.
The Minister said 11 out of the 156 Ambulances have so far arrived in the country while 18 more are soon expected to be dispatched.
Mr. NKOMBO said 50 more ambulances will be dispatched to ZAMBIA by the end of 2024 while the remaining 106 Life Support Ambulances will be dispatched to ZAMBIA by the end of May next year.
