Audit findings worry KANGWA, calls for accountability

Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA is concerned with the continued abuse of public resources.
Mr. KANGWA says audit queries in the Auditor’s General’s 2023 Report are worrying and that there is need to improve.
He points out that cooperating partners are helping Government with resources and that it is wrong to abuse the funds.
Mr. KANGWA was speaking when he opened a 10 day training of Accountants from the Ministry of Education at the National Institute of Public Administration -NIPA- in Lusaka today.
And German Agency for International Cooperation- GIZ- Country Director AXEL ULMER said the financial management programme that has been rolled out for the civil service is important.
Accountant General NSANDI MANZA said the training programme will be rolled out to all public service officers.
And NIPA Governing Council Chairperson Professor HAMBABA JIMAOMA said the training programme has been designed to ensure that public service workers are trained in public resource management.
