Ballots papers for by-elections set to arrive

The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has announced that Ballot papers for the upcoming parliamentary and ward by-election slated for Friday, December 20 in Kawambwa, Chililabombwe and Shangombo districts will arrive today.

ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager  PATRICIA LUHANGA has confirmed that the ballot papers will  arrive that Kenneth Kaunda international Airport via Emirates flight EK 0713 today around 14:30 hours.

Ms. LUHANGA says the ECZ has further invited media representatives and political parties participating in the by-elections to witness the arrival of the ballot papers.

She says a verification exercise will be held on Friday, 13th December 2024, at 10:00hrs at the ECZ offices, where the participating political parties will have the opportunity to verify the ballot papers.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Ms. LUHANGA emphasised the transparency and cooperation between the Commission and political parties during this process, ensuring that the elections are conducted with the utmost integrity.

She further urged all stakeholders to remain engaged as the country prepares for the crucial by-elections next week.
