
Barotse Royal Establishment Announces Kuomboka Ceremony Date

The Barotse Royal Establishment has set April 5th, 2025 as the date for the Kuomboka traditional ceremony for the Lozi people in Western Province.
Announcing the date, Namuso Kuta, BRE Ngambela, Manyando Mukela said the Litunga has spent 45 years on the throne, preserving the Lozi culture and traditions.
The Ngambela said the Litunga served for 20 years as Senior Chief for Lukulu District before being crowned as the Litunga for the entire Western Province.
He mentioned that God has blessed the people of Western Province as the Zambezi River has burst its waters into the plains, making it easier for the Litunga and his people to sail freely from the Lealui Royal Palace.
The traditional leader has called on people from all walks of life to come and be part of the prestigious 2025 Kuomboka traditional ceremony.
The Ngambela has requested people with political inclinations to avoid using their political slogans or manifestos, emphasizing that the Kuomboka ceremony is a traditional event and should be celebrated as such.
