Boy Drowns in Dam

Police in Shimabala have retrieved the body of a 15-year-old boy who drowned in Chipongwe Dam.

Kafue District Commissioner, MORRIS KAPUWE, identified the deceased as CHIYAMBI DAKA.

The incident occurred yesterday around 15:00 hours when CHIYAMBI and his friends went swimming.

Mr. KAPUWE explained that when his friends noticed he was not resurfacing, they ran for help.

Shimabala Ward Councillor, JOHN MWIKAYA described the incident as unfortunate.

Another resident, NSAMA MUSONDA, noted that this is the first time such a tragedy has occurred in the community.
