By Alice Lubasi
British High Commissioner Rabecca Terzeon has commended the government for allowing citizens to participate in governance through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Ms. Terzeon says the participation of citizens in decision-making processes has promoted a democratic approach to development.
She says access to the CDF has led to personal development and improved living standards.
Speaking when she interacted with some CDF beneficiaries in Chongwe District, Ms. Terzeon said the implementation of the CDF in local communities demonstrates the government’s commitment to bettering the lives of people.
And People’s Action for Accountability and Good Governance in Zambia Executive Director Khazike Sakala said the organization has collaborated with seven ward development committees in Chongwe out of twenty-one wards.
And Chongwe District Administration Officer Kelvin Ndandanda said transparency is at the center of the delivery of the CDF in Chongwe.
