Burnt Man’s Identity Confirmed by DNA

DNA test has confirmed the identity of the man, who was burnt to death in his vehicle in Lusaka’s Emmasdale area on March 11, 2025.
Two individuals, FOTCH KUMWENDA and GRACE KUMWENDA had claimed that the deceased, who they named as WILSON KUMWENDA was their relative after they identified the burnt body as belonging to him.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has told ZNBC news that DNA samples collected from Mr. KUMWENDA and Ms. KUMWENDA matched that of the deceased man.
Mr. HAMOONGA says the remains of the deceased, who has since been confirmed as WILSON KUMWENDA, will be released to the family for burial.
He has however said investigations into the incident will continue.
