Cash for Work flags off in Mambwe
The government has launched the Cash for Work program in Mambwe District, Eastern Province, where 5,000 people are expected to benefit.
Over 18 million Kwacha is expected to be spent on the program in Mambwe District.
Speaking during the launch of the program in Mphomwa Ward, Malambo Member of Parliament Peter Phiri appealed to the people to take advantage of the program to address the hunger situation in their homes.
Acting Mambwe Town Council Secretary Frank Mazani stated that the local authority has already put in place all the necessary measures to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Andilesi Mbewe of Mphomwa Ward, expressed gratitude on behalf of the local people, thanking the government for the initiative.
Semeon Mabanti of Jumbe Ward also urged the government to sustain such progressive programs.
