Chess Federation celebrates 35 medals in 2024

The Chess Federation of Zambia -CFZ- says 35 medals have been minted by players across various competitions this year.
CFZ President LESLIE CHIKUSE says this is in comparison to the two medals minted across all competitions last year.
CHIKUSE says the increase in the number of medals is largely attributed to the good performance of Chess players at both global and regional events.
Speaking to ZNBC Sport News, CHIKUSE said following what has been a successful year; the focus now has shifted to selecting a player that will represent the country at the 2025 Chess World Cup.
CHIKUSE has also disclosed that 100 players will take part in the 2024 National Youth games slated for Ndola and Lusaka this month.
