Chief Mumbi cheers rehabilitation of Amose Dam
By Blessings Chibuye
Chief Mumbi of Petauke District has commended the government for rehabilitating Amose Dam, which had been swept away and rendered unusable for about 15 years.
Chief Mumbi says once completed, the dam will help store water for irrigation, fish farming, and commercial use.
He was speaking when Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commander, Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Petauke District, Eastern Province.
General Solochi said ZNS is working to ensure all dam projects are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
Petauke District Commissioner, Martha Mulenga, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the rehabilitation works.
