Chilanga Hungry Lion Remains Closed

The Hungry Lion Chilanga outlet has remained closed due the contamination of water from it’s borehole.

However Debonairs Pizza which sits on the same premise is operational as laboratory tests conducted on it’s water  are negative.

According to the results accessed by ZNBC, the water samples from debonairs were tested at the University of Zambia laboratory and showed no signs of contamination.

And a ZNBC News crew that visited the area found that the two food outlets have separate boreholes, which may have contributed to the differing test results.

Meanwhile Chilanga Town Council Public Relations Officer LUYANDO SIKAZWA says the council is monitoring the situation closely to ensure that it protects the health of the public.

Mr. SIKAZWA says the contamination of water is due to some leaking sewer pipes.

He explained that the council has directed the owner of borehole to quickly rectify the problem.
