Child killer sentenced to life imprisonment

NALUKUI AKAFEKWA, the Lusaka man accused of murdering 10-year-old CHIKONDI BANDA in 2023, has been jailed for life.
Lusaka High Court Judge, MWAPE BOWA sentenced AKAFEKWA today on one count of murder, when the matter came up for judgment.
In his judgment, Judge BOWA explained that he had concluded that it was AKAFEKWA, who murdered CHIKONDI and later dumped his body in a maize field in Emmasdale area.
Judge BOWA said that the state had also proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.
He added that it was appalling that AKAFEKWA, who was a neighbour to CHIKONDI’s parents in garden compound, could betray the trust of the deceased.
