Chililabombwe records 16 cholera cases, one death

Sixteen new cases of cholera have been reported in the last 24 hours, with one death, in Chililabombwe District.
This brings the number of cholera cases in Chililabombwe to 86 and six deaths since the outbreak was reported on January 20, 2025.
And over one hundred thousand Chililabombwe residents are targeted to be vaccinated under the cholera vaccination campaign which is scheduled to start soon.
Chililabombwe District Health Director CHEMBO SHAMILANDO disclosed that 57 patients have since been discharged while active cases stand at 26.
He said this when briefing Chililabombwe Member of Parliament PAUL KABUSWE on the cholera situation in the district this morning.
And Mr. Kabuswe has called on the local authority and other law enforcement agencies to stiffen preventive measures.
