Chingola Mayor warns councilors over illegal land allocation

Chingola Mayor JOHNSON KANG’OMBE has cautioned councilors against engaging in illegal land allocation.

Mr. KANG’OMBE has also threatened to take action against erring councilors.

He said this during the commemoration of Africa Decentralized Day at the Civic Centre in Chingola.

The mayor’s warning comes after concerns over rampant illegal land allocation in the district, including in graveyards.

Mr. KANGOMBE says the council will establish a team to investigate and address the illegal land allocation in the district.

Meanwhile, Chingola Town Clerk NAMUKOLO KALUFYANYA says the municipality has since done 50 percent of the approved CDF projects under the 2024 allocation.
