Chipata High Court Jails Albino Killer for Life

The Chipata High Court has sentenced a 21-year-old man of Katete District to life imprisonment with hard labour for killing a 47-year-old man who was living with albinism.
PAUL BANDA of Nkhungulu two village in Chieftainess KAWAZA’s area murdered CHALEKA BANDA in July 2023 and offered his body for sale at one billion Kwacha.
After killing the deceased, Mr. BANDA shaved the body before concealing it in his garden.
The convict was apprehended by police officers who acted as buyers during the investigation.
Lusaka judge DORCAS MALAMA who was sitting in Chipata said the killing of the deceased was premeditated and meticulously executed by the convict.
Judge MALAMA said the convict was motivated by the desire to make quick money.
And Albinism Foundation of Zambia Eastern Province secretary OBBISTER NGONI said the foundation is happy with the judgment.
Meanwhile, Albinism Foundation of Zambia Katete District Coordinator REUBEN PHIRI said the judgment has sent a clear sign that life of crime does not pay.
