Chipata Man Found Dead in his House
A 32-year-old Ministry of Agriculture employee, in Chipata, Eastern province, has been found dead in his house.
The body of CHILOSHA CHIMOTO was discovered in a state of decomposition in his bedroom in Old Jim Compound, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, ROBERTSON MWEEMBA has confirmed, saying Mr CHIMOTO had NOT been seen for several days, before he was discovered dead.
Mr MWEEMBA has explained that the discovery was made after Mr CHIMOTO’s Landlord noticed flies emerging from the deceased’s house and they reported the matter to the police.
He has added that when police officers visited the scene, they found the house locked from the inside and upon forced entry, they discovered the decomposing body of the deceased, lying on the bed.
Mr MWEEMBA says a basin and a pair of trousers, stained with faecal matter, were found in the bedroom, indicating that Mr CHIMOTO may have been ill prior to his death.
