Chipata Man Robbed of Motorbike at Gun Point

A man has been robbed of his motorbike at gun-point in Chipata, Eastern province, by a criminal, who pretended to be a Zambia Correctional Services Officer.

This happened, when the suspected criminal booked the motorbike ride from town, to take him to Namuseche Correctional Facility.

Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, ROBERTSON MWEEMBA the incident happened around 19 hours on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Mr MWEEMBA says when the two reached Chipata rail line area, the criminal, who was wearing half combat and boots, produced a pistol and ordered him to surrender the motorbike and a phone.

He has added that the criminal ordered the motorbike rider to lay on the ground face-down, before speeding off.
