CHIPYOKA seeks leave to apply for Habeas Corpus

Detained Independent Broadcasting Authority –IBA- Finance Director FRANCIS CHIPYOKA is seeking leave to apply for Habeas Corpus.
Mr. CHIPYOKA has been detained, following the murder of IBA Director General GUNTILA MULEYA.
He is seeking leave to apply for writ of Habeas Corpus on grounds that he has been detained since July 28, 2024 without being charged or presented before the court.
Mr. CHIPYOKA has lamented that his detention is an affront to his freedoms, Liberty and fundamental human rights.
He has also described as unconstitutional his detention without a charge.
Meanwhile, Mr. CHIPYOKA has lamented that his vehicle has been confiscated without a warrant.
This is according to Affidavit in support of an Exparte Summon for leave to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, filed in the LUSAKA High Court.
The affidavit has been filed by Mr. CHIPYOKA’s lawyer FRIDAY MULENGA-Junior.
