Chongwe to build modern market

The Chongwe Municipal Council has started constructing a modern market to relocate traders from the Great East Road to pave the way for the expansion of the road.
Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, Cecilia Mukonkela, says the road will be expanded into a dual carriageway from the Airport Roundabout to Chongwe Bridge.
Ms. Mukonkela told ZNBC News that the Council is working with the Road Development Agency (RDA) on the project.
She said the new market is being constructed in Chongwe’s showground area, and it will accommodate 1,500 traders.
