Church urged to remain Zambia’s unifying factor

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has urged the church to remain a unifying factor and pray for peace and stability as Zambia attains 60 years of independence.
President HICHILEMA says Zambia’s greatest strength lies in unity.
He says it is important for citizens to put their differences aside and work together for the sake of the country’s peace and development.
President HICHILEMA says Zambia has been a beacon of peace over the last 60 years hence the need for citizens to continue being agents of peace and stability.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO during thanksgiving prayers and celebration of Zambia at 60 in Lusaka today.
And Chairperson of the National Day of Prayer, ESTHER JANI said it is important to celebrate God despite the several challenges the country is facing, such as the drought caused by climate change.
Prophetess JANI said there is need for mindset change, as human beings are guilty of destroying the environment.
Chairperson of the Declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation, BILLY MFULA said God will intervene over the affairs of Zambia, as the country celebrates 60-years of Independence.
Bishop MFULA said the number 60 biblically interprets glory and divine intervention.
Meanwhile, Former Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia president HARRISON SAKALA called on Zambians to be devoted and patriotic to the country.
