CNMC Luanshya mine to invest $700m,Create 3,000 Jobs

CNMC Luanshya Copper Mine plans to invest over 700 million US Dollars at the New 28 Shaft on the Copperbelt Province.

CNMC Luanshya Mine Deputy Chief Executive Officer ROBERT KAMANGA confirmed the development and disclosed that production at the new mine is expected to start by August 2026.

Mr. KAMANGA further added that the mine’s current copper production is at 50,000 metric tonnes.

And, CNMC Luanshya Mine Chairperson LI ZHANYAN said 3,000 jobs will be created once production kick starts in August 2026.

And Mines and Minerals Development Minister PAUL KABUSWE has urged Luanshya Mine Management to focus on recovering the economic state of the district through employment of the local people.
