By Lupindula Mwewa
Government says it will this year start the construction of four major roads in North Western Province.
Infrastructure and Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI has identified the roads as Mushindamo-Kipushi, Kambimba, Mwinilunga and Kasempa-Kaoma.
Mr. MILUPI says talks to identify contractors to work on the roads have advanced.
Speaking during the hand-over of Malolwa Bridge in Kabompo, Mr. MILUPI said government wants to enhance trade through improved and efficient road networks.
And North Western Province Minister ROBERT LIHEFU said the construction of roads will open up the province to investments.
Mr. LIHEFU said the commitment to construct roads in the province is a sign of government’s developmental agenda for rural areas.
And Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA said the construction of the bridge will help connect the area to the Central Business District of Kabompo.
