Cop shoots himself with AK47

A Police Officer has died after shooting himself in the Inquiries Office in Chingola on the Copperbelt.

Constable MICHAEL LITETA shot himself with an AK-47 rifle at Mutenda Police Post.

Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner, PEACEWELL MWEEMBA has confirmed saying the incident happened on Monday, December 9, around 22 hours.

Mr MWEEMBA says the motive is not known.

He has explained that the officer was found laying down at the inquiries office in a pool of blood resulting from the self-inflicted gunshot wound.
