Court hears wizardry plot against HH

Trial of two suspected wizards allegedly hired to harm President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, has taken off in the LUSAKA Magistrates Court.

One of the witnesses GEORGE MWALE, an Immigration Officer has testified that the two, LEONARD PHIRI and MABULESSE CANDUNDE on November 22, 2024 confessed before the police that they were hired by former PETAUKE Central Member of Parliament EMMANUEL BANDA for 43 Million Kwacha.

Mr. MWALE has testified before LUSAKA Resident Magistrate FINE MAYAMBU that Mr. BANDA allegedly hired Mr. PHIRI and Mr. CANDUNE using his brother NELSON BANDA as an agent.

This is in a matter where Mr. PHIRI and Mr. CANDUNDE are charged with practicing Witchcraft and possessing charms.

The two have been indicted pursuant to Section five of the Witchcraft Act Chapter 90 of the Laws of Zambia
