Criminal shot dead

One suspected criminal has been shot dead, in an exchange of fire with police, who were pursing them, in Lusaka’s Chunga area.

JUSTINE PONGA, aged between 35 and 40, was in the company of an accomplice, who however managed to escape.

Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed saying this happened on Friday around 19 hours.

Mr HAMOONGA has explained that the deceased, on whose body police found a Pistol, was a notorious criminal, who has been on the most-wanted list since 2019.

He has added that investigations have revealed that the deceased was part of a larger criminal syndicate, which includes 3 other male suspects, who are all wanted for various cases of aggravated robbery
