Cultural heritage key for national unity – Nalumango

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says cultural heritage is key in the promotion and preservation of national peace and unity.
Ms NALUMANGO says having different cultural groups is important in preserving national heritage and identity for future generations.
The Vice President said this during the Diamond Jubilee independence Carnival in Lusaka held under the theme “Zambia at 60 years strong, honouring our heritage , embracing our future”
Ms NALUMANGO says the government wants to promote a strong and united Zambia regardless of different ethnicity.
She has urged Zambians not to allow anyone to destroy the national peace and unity the country has enjoyed for many years.
Speaking earlier, Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary ROBERT KAMALATA has implored Zambians to value the country’s culture and tradition.
And, ZANACO Chief Executive Officer MUKWANDI CHIBESAKUNDA said the bank will give out desks to 60 schools as part of this year’s independence celebrations.
