
DEC nabs Solwezi man for cultivating 1 tonne of Cannabis

The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC has arrested NELSON MASAMO, for unlawfully cultivating over one tonne of cannabis plants in North Western Province.
DEC Public Relations Manager ALLAN TAMBA says Mr. MASAMO was arrested in Solwezi.
Mr. TAMBA says the DEC also apprehended EZINANI MWANGAMA, a Solwezi resident for cultivating 665 kilograms of cannabis plants.
He says DEC also jointly arrested JUSTIN MUCHINDU, and PYTHIAS KALOZA, from Mukuba area, for cultivating 138.2 kilograms of cannabis plants.
And Mr. TAMBA says the Commission has also arrested four individuals in Luwingu District for cultivating a total of 951 kilograms of cannabis plants.
He says JOSHUA CHILESHE, and FRANCIS CHILESHE, were jointly charged and arrested in Kasama District for trafficking 554 sachets of high-grade cannabis weighing 1.3 kilograms and 171 grams of cannabis seeds.
This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC News by Mr. TAMBA.
