
DMMU sends 1,680 liters of insecticide to fight red locust in WP
NAIS- The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit-DMMU- has sent 1,680 liters of insecticide to address the red locusts infestation in fields in Western Province.
DMMU National Coordinator Norman Chipakupaku says four districts are currently affected in the Province.
Mr Chipakupaku told ZNBC News that the Ministry of Agriculture has made a request for more chemicals and DMMU will procure additional chemicals as soon as possible.
He said if the situation is not addressed promptly the red locusts might affect 17 districts.
Meanwhile Mr Chipakupaku said DMMU is providing water and chlorine to help 74 people that have been treated for cholera in Kabwe District.
