Doctor in Custody Over Rape Allegation

An Intern Medical Doctor has been arrested for allegedly raping a patient at Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka.

The alleged rape is said to have happened yesterday, March 4, 2025.

Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary, MAAMBO HAAMAUNDU says police were alerted over the matter and that the intern is now in custody.

Mr. HAAMAUNDU says management at Maina Soko Medical Centre is cooperating with police investigations.

He has assured the public that no one will be shielded in the investigations.

This is according to a statement issued by Mr. HAAMAUNDU and availed to ZNBC news in Lusaka.
