“Don’t entertain conflict between chiefdoms”

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has urged traditional leaders across the country not to entertain conflict between chiefdoms.
President HICHILEMA says it has been noted that a number of chiefdoms have either boundary conflicts, land wrangles or inter-provincial challenges but that should not lead to conflict.
He says chiefdoms must instead engage in dialogue to encourage unity, peace and stability for the nation.
The President was speaking during an engagement with traditional leaders who attended the Chuundu Lwiindi traditional ceremony of the Toka Leya people of Kazungula under chief SEKUTE.
Earlier during an engagement with the host chief, President HICHILEMA cautioned government leaders in Kazungula district to work with the visionary traditional leader without squabbles.
He said no one is bigger than the agenda of the country thus the need to work together to achieve the developmental agenda.
And Chief SEKUTE has pledged to work with the local authority in implementing the good policies of the government through traditional structures.
Meanwhile, House of Chiefs Chairperson Chief NKAMBO has thanked President HICHILEMA for attending various traditional ceremonies in all the ten provinces this year.
He said through the President’s visits, chiefs have been encouraged to unite and support one another
