“DP will not support Lungu’s preferred Candidate”
The Democratic Party says the call by former President Edgar Lungu for the opposition to unite must not be at the expense of them supporting his preferred candidate for the 2026 General Elections.
Democratic Party Leader, Judith Nkonge, says doing so is wrong and that her party will not support his move.
Ms. Nkonge says she can only support the former President if he wants to support her presidential candidature for the 2026 General Elections.
She has advised the former President to retire from active politics, stating that he had his time to rule the nation.
However, Citizen’s First President, Harry Kalaba, told ZNBC News that his party supports the call for the opposition to unite.
